Jack Daniel's Heritage Barrel Rye

Our great friend Clint Dungan sent us this amazing photo and review.

2023 JD heritage twice barreled Rye 100 proof. Finished in a heavily toasted barrel . This rye whiskey has a mash bill of 70% Rye, 18% Corn, 12% Malted Barley and Jack Daniels has stated that it is over 7 years old.

Nose: Smells thick and rich, rich oak , dark chocolate, dark cherries, dried citrus fruit , black pepper, dried rye spice, confectionery sugar. A outstanding nose.

Palate: Creamy mouth feel , raw leather, rich  fresh pressed oak, cinnamon sticks, maple syrup, dark cherries, banana bread.

Finish: Drying mouth tingle, drying mouth coating medium resting finish, creamy vanilla bean creamer, coffee beans, more raw oak , again more maple syrup, crazy thing is it has this freshly squeezed lemon juice dryness on the back end.

Wow, now that makes Big Chief want to find a bottle. Thanks Clint for the photo and the review. Keep them coming.#whiskeytrip #thewhiskeytrippodcast #whiskeytrippin #digitalmarketing #whiskeyreview #thewhiskeytrip #podcast #podcastersofinstagram #digitalinfluencer #digitalmarketingagency

NEver say die Rye Whiskey

Do you want to try Never Say Die Rye Whiskey on April 12th when it’s released?

Here’s a sneak peak of what to expect. Our buddy Clint gave it a try and this is what he had to say.

Never Say Die Rye Whiskey is 105 proof. Its sweet mash bill is 56% rye, 33% corn and 11% malted barley. Distilled in Danville, Kentucky and aged for 5 years, then continues aging in England in the same oak barrels. Then bottled and imported back to Jacksonville FL.

Golden amber color / thicker top line with slow clumpy legs in the glass.

Nose: Sweet floral notes, baking spices, honeycomb, citrus rind, cinnamon, raw oak with a slight salted note .

Palate: Sweet caramel candy apple, light brown sugar, baking spices, cinnamon, light oak , more honey.

Finish: Medium mouth tingle, medium mouth coating resting finish, banana, caramel, ground black pepper, sea salt more honey and oak on the back end.

Wow, Clint’s review had Big Chief wanting to try it. The citrus notes mesh perfectly with the tea and dried fig notes. The spice isn’t overwhelming and pairs nicely with a butter cream finish. At $84.95 this is a buy. Something about the changing environments of the barrels have given this rye something truly magical.
